Just compiled gnome-main-menu from GNOME SVN (SLED10 SP1 branch) and it turned out better than before. The menu now looks more elegant and doesn’t crash all the time. It also pops up a lot faster. The buttons instead of a dropdown requires less clicking. The only thing I (still) don’t like is the Application Browser, I think this can easily be integrated in a serparate “All Applications” button, with the different categories as gtk expanders, and a scrollbar on the side when there are too many categories open.
Can’t wait to see this in openSUSE 10.3!
Who’s maintaining gnome-main-menu.
I found the version in stock OS 10.2 to be perfect - expect that it crashed ALL the time.
I found a patch to it last night - version .9.??? and I see that it’s interface has been changed quite a bit - and now it’s bloody awful. It takes more real-estate and there is plenty of blank regions.
Is there a way to revert back minus hacking the code or something?
