Long have I waited for the release of the new SLED-menu to be available to the public. First day it came out I installed it on my SUSE Linux 10.1 box.

I have been happily using it for over two months now, but something seemed missing, I couldn’t launch applications that I didn’t use often quickly anymore. Why? The new menu should have been nothing but improvement?

I decided to compare the new and old menu systems. Ironically, what was missing was the clutter of all the category icons. The icons were missing in the new Application Browser, never thought I would rely that much on shapes instead of words. SUSE-devs, please but the icons back in!
